Research Fellow, Centre for Justice, Law and Society

Khushi Singh is a Lawyer and Research Fellow at the Centre for Justice, Law and Society. She holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Jindal Global Law School (Batch of 2025). Her work lies at the intersection of criminal law and human rights law.

Before joining CJLS, Khushi was a Research Intern at the Chambers of Senior Advocate Ms. Indira Jaising, where she worked on the “age of consent” matter and the upcoming interview series commemorating 20 years of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, for The Leaflet, among others.
As a student, she also worked as a Paralegal Volunteer for the Criminal Justice Clinic, as well as a Legal Intern for CJLS, where she contributed to the study, “Access to Safe and Legal Abortion Services in Asia: Challenges and Opportunities,” published as a collaboration between ARROW and CJLS.

My first foray into the ‘reproductive rights’ jurisprudence in India was during my internship with CJLS in my second year of law school, and I am glad to see that the Centre continues to lead the discourse on that front. At a time when pregnant persons across the world face the withdrawal of support at the hands of conservative governments and loss of their inherent rights, the Centre’s focus on abortion justice is not only refreshing but also the need of the hour, and I am grateful that I get to be a part of this intellectual collaboration.
